Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Servings: 20 cups

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 4 cups Wheat Chex cereal
  • 4 cups small pretzel twists
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated white sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Combine the three cereals, pretzels, peanuts, and pecan halves in a very large bowl. Toss to mix evenly.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, white sugar, corn syrup, and Worcestershire sauce until the sugars dissolve and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Whisk in the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt into the butter mixture.
  5. Pour the butter mixture slowly over the dry ingredients, tossing gently with a spatula to coat everything evenly.
  6. Spread the coated mix in a single layer on large baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even crisping.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheets. The mix will crisp further as it cools. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. The mix gets crispier as it cools. Add chocolate chips or M&Ms after cooling to prevent melting.
